Job Description:

Madison College is recruiting a pool of qualified part-time candidates to teach courses for the Fashion Marketing program. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Health and dental benefits are NOT provided.

This position is responsible for instruction in the Fashion Marketing program at the college level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, division and college levels.

This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Business and Applied Arts.

Essential Duties:
1. Responsible for content delivery in both the Fashion Marketing Program including but not limited to the following courses: Marketing Principles, Market Research, Marketing Topics and Trends, eCommerce, Marketing Management, Advertising, Fashion Marketing, Retailing, Merchandising and other advanced courses.

2. Establish relationships with outside stakeholders as well as participate in assessment of training needs and delivery of customized training.

3. Explore new and innovative format options for course scheduling including design and customized course development and instruction to meet business and industry needs.

4. Instruct students in classes and participate in college service activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

5. Assist and advise working adults in Marketing Fastrack program and students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.

6. Evaluate student performance in courses taught by the instructor.

7. Actively work with other personnel in student recruitment, retention and job placement.

8. Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.

9. Assist students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work-study assignments, team projects, etc.

10. Maintain certification as an instructor with the Wisconsin Technical College System.

11. Comply with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.

12. Attend division, department and advisory committee meetings.

13. Develop strategies aimed at the recruitment and retention of minority/female students.

14. Participate in appropriate staff development activities such as diversity awareness, technology training, etc.

15. Design curriculum, including but not limited to multicultural infusion, and instruct in a variety of non-traditional formats to meet students and business needs.

16. Demonstrate a commitment to the college values of excellence, respect and integrity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including the use of accelerated, on-line, and other methods of alternative delivery.

2. Knowledge of learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender and disability.

3. Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.

4. Skill in the use of educational technology.

5. Skill in communications and human relations with populations having diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds.

6. Skill in oral and written communications.

7. Ability to interact with business and industry to establish partnerships.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.

3. Three (3) years or 6,000 hours of work experience in a related field such as Retail, Fashion CAD, Technical Design, or Marketing.

Madison College utilizes pool postings for all PT Instructor positions at the College. You will be considered as a POTENTIAL candidate who could possibly fill a position if/when the need arises. By posting these positions, there is no guarantee that Madison College will actually be hiring for this position. Part-time Instructors are hired on a per course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment for the following semester. The teaching hours for a part-time instructor vary and can include day, evening, and weekend classes.
